Despite being at the end of winter, March can be a perfect month for your wedding celebration, especially when living in the UK. A spring-like atmosphere offers a unique charm to any wedding day, as we saw at Zoe and Robert’s beautiful wedding in Barnsley.

The ceremony was held at the stunning Barnsley Town Hall, a popular choice for couples having a Barnsley registry office wedding. Zoe and Robert tied the knot in this elegant setting, making their day truly memorable.

We began the day by capturing some bridal preparations, followed by a special first look at the Churchfields Peace Gardens in Barnsley. This moment is ideal for couples who want to share some private time before the ceremony and have intimate portraits taken around town. It was also the perfect opportunity to photograph the car they hired for the day.

After the ceremony and all the requested group portraits, we headed to the reception, which took place at The New Inn in Penistone. The reception was held in a beautifully styled tipi wedding venue on their grounds, offering a unique and rustic setting.

The New Inn, situated near the borders of the Peak District National Park, is a fantastic choice for a wedding venue. Its close proximity to the Penistone railway viaduct provides stunning backdrops for couple portraits. The tipi accommodates around 60 guests, making it ideal for a more intimate wedding, while the Inn itself offers a charming location for drinks before the main celebration moves to the tipi.

The New Inn also boasts a luxurious Bridal Suite, perfect for getting ready or for an overnight stay. This bright, spacious, and elegant suite features an open-plan bathroom with a freestanding bath, providing an amazing backdrop for bridal preparation photos.

One of the highlights of the day was a surprise performance by the very talented Lily Kirby. The groom also surprised the bride by performing a song with the artist, playing the guitar—a truly memorable and emotional moment.
